Slasher Fitment & Operating Instructions:

  1. Prior to fitting your new slasher to your tractor, insure that your PTO shaft is adequately greased.
  2. When fitting your slasher to tractor, insure that the slasher is fitted level, from the side and front to back.
  3. It is never recomended that your slasher drag on the ground, this will result in worn skids in a short period of time, for reliability and to extend the life of your slasher, run your slasher about 5mm off the ground.
  4. Do not use your slasher to cut rocks, stones, metal and any hard substance that could cause damage to your new slasher, this will also void your guarantee.
  5. Our slashers are not manufactured for chains, we highly recommended that you use blades for cutting, chains jerk and whip around, this can cause damage to your slasher gearbox, chains  also unfortunately limit the guarantee on your slasher gearbox.
  6. Should you require a slasher with chains instead of blades, we can manufacture your slasher accordingly. Your slasher is designed and manufactured to cut veldt/bush, bush grass and regular grass only.
  7. Your slasher gearbox is filledwith Total TM SAE 85W-140 Gear Oil, this is the recommended oil.

Taking Care Of Your Slasher:

Our slashers have wire and hard grass catchers fitted to the upper side of the centre blade housing, this is to catch wire fragments and hard pieces of grass, preventing damage to the lower gearbox seal.

This should be cleand of debris regularly.

Grease the PTO shaft regularly.

Check the gearbox oil regularly and top up if required with Total TM SAE 85W-140 Gear Oil. (Can be purchased at most auto spares shops or farm supply stores). DO NOT OVER FILL THE GEARBOX WITH OIL, USE THE OIL LEVEL BOLT LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF THE GEARBOX TO REACH THE CORRECT OIL LEVEL. Over filling your gearbox with oil will result in the gearbox sweating oil from the seals and it'll start leaking oil.

Slasher Guarantee:

Your slasher is guaranteed against faulty or inferior workmanship that may result in causing the unit to break down or cease from functioning, for 12 months (1 year).

Should the slasher not be used for the function that it was manufactured for, the guarantee will become void.

For example: Cutting stones, rocks, metal, levelling gravel etc. Should the slasher not be fitted level and wears on one side only, that responsibility will fall onto the owner of the slasher, it is his/her responsibility to ensure that the slasher is fitted correctly and level prior to being used. Please note that all slashers supplied by Pro Active have been thoroughly tested prior to delivery or collection, this is to ensure that the slasher is in perfect working order before you receive it…
